CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Every painting comes with a Digital Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which is a permanent digital record for a painting. Each certificate is linked to a detailed provenance record and stored on the blockchain.
Blockchain technology lets us create permanent certificates that can be publicly verified while still protecting the privacy of owners, buyers, and sellers. It is a public record, so anybody can verify the existence of a certificate and check provenance instantly if they have access to the certificate, but the identity of key parties and transactional details can be kept out of public view. And because the blockchain is tamper-proof, once a certificate has been registered or an update recorded, that record is permanent and will live forever.
Each COA includes the Title of the painting, Production Date, Medium, Dimensions, it’s location on the blockchain, photos, and the artist’s signature, verifying the authenticity of the piece.
These certificates are used by leading galleries, artists, and auction houses. They meet widely accepted standards for artwork classification by museums and cultural organizations (CIDOC-CRM, LIDO, Object ID compliance).
Certificates can be easily printed for your records or shared with others to prove ownership or verify provenance.
Once a painting is purchased you will receive an email invitation to accept the COA transfer using Verisart. Then, all you need to do is create a free account and accept the COA through the Verisart website.
